Jeff handles the day-to-day operations of the church. He assists the Finance Committee in monitoring the finances, the Trustees with routine building maintenance and large contracts, and SPRT with human resources and personnel issues. In addition, he supervises internal and external communications; approves all purchases and payables; manages IT issues; and produces payroll.

He has had a varied life in missions. He established a long-term mission project in El Salvador for his Long Island church that provided a community with the basics of life, everything from a door for the community outhouse to medical supplies. During a mission trip to Havana, Cuba, he assisted citizens in establishing a local (and illegal) church. He was arrested and jailed in Cuba for talking to people on a food line. He also was a Big Brother for six years, and spent 10 years on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity on Long Island. He served as executive director with Habitat for Humanity in Lancaster for three years. During that tenure, he organized the construction of 27 homes and repaired more than 100 in the Lancaster area. He was a member of Habitat’s management team that helped assessed Katrina’s damage in Louisiana, and organized the building of eight homes in the hurricane-ravaged area.

Jeff is a native of Buffalo, N.Y. He was a journalist for 24 years, ultimately being a news editor at Newsday on Long Island before changing careers to the non-profit world. He moved to his current home in Lancaster in 2004. He lives with his wife, Kathy, and two daughters, Lura Kate and Carolyn. His first daughter, Rebecca, lives on Long Island with her husband, Li, and their daughter, Anastasia, and son, Leo. In his spare time he is a certified BBQ contest judge for the Kansas City Barbecue Society and suffers great tribulations every fall Sunday afternoon as a Buffalo Bills fan.
