COMMISSIONS

Four commissions were created in Summer 2009 to guide and oversee four ministry areas — care, connect, equip and reach out — related to the vision of Hempfield UMC.

The Care Commission oversees the many care ministries of the church. Care’s vision is to help people through life crises, help them find spiritual and emotional health so they can engage in the mission God has for their lives and help them grow as disciples of Jesus. The Connect Commission exists to deepen our connection as sisters and brothers in Christ and to welcome new relationships. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of warmth and personal acceptance where people feel welcomed and valued. Connect is chaired by Dori Smith and Darriel Davis. The Equip Commission exists to help each person at every age and in every stage of life with the knowledge and tolls they need to live for God. Equip is chaired by Dan Brookhart and Heather Hammel.




The Reach Out Commission exists to look toward the people of our community and beyond, expressing the love of God for them. Reach Out is chaired by Mike Horn and Luanne Schreier. The staff contact is the outreach director.
