We both attended this seminar this past weekend, a much needed experience for us.

We are both believers in Jesus, but it put his love for us in perspective and refreshed our minds about how much he desires for us to be happy and whole together with him as our foundation even in marriage.

It gave us time we so desperatly needed together to focus on God and us.

The dancing thing of marriage as far as sumbit and lead, we truly need to find that, and dance more together then apart.

At the end when we said the commitment prayer/pledge to eachother and God...I wept as we read those prayers. It was very emotional as the whole day was for us....but in a good way.

This is a very good tool for our church to have for any couple young or old. Thank you God for Heather and her husband and sharing this seminar with us and giving of there time.

My granddaughter has her whole set, being in 8 th grade already.
It seems I dropped Joseph. Any chance of getting a replacement
piece? I would be happy to pay for it. Let me know where I should get it.
Thanks very much!

For many many years I had a misconception of what "giving up" means. I now realize that giving up means to turn over control. If someone give up their job. The job does not go away someone else has just taken it over. When we give up it's not like in Baseball when someone in center field gets mad and quits and sits down on the field. That's quitting. Giving up would be signaling the coach that you need to be relieved. This analogy is cool because when we give up (to GOD) we are relieved. In every scene of that word. I can't believe it took me so long to see that simple concept. Same thing with a Ship. Captain turns over command to another office. He says "You have the Con. The officer says "you are relieved".

How true that it is a relief to give up control to God! This reading was reinforced by something I read today in the book 'The Relationship Principles of Jesus' by Tom Holladay..."Jesus doesn't want you to try your hardest; Jesus wants you to learn to trust in him. Jesus set the bar so high that the only way it could by reached was by living and thinking in a whole new way. Christianity is not trying harder; Christianity is trusting Jesus." How hard we make it to grasp something so simple; yet what a relief when we finally let go!

Great article, Erika. It was very interesting to hear about your experiences and the way they have obviously shaped your heart for helping others in need. So glad to know there are youth like you in our church and community! I agree - we can all do so much more to help others in the world who do not have the resources we do in the United States. Imagine what our nation could do if we all gave $1 a day, as you said! Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Hello. I came across your website about a kids program called Down Home at God's Farm.

Can you tell me what biblical curriculum/stories and lessons you used and what songs you sang. I'm interested in doing something of the same nature at my church soon.

Thanks and blessings to you in your ministry.
