Announcements 9/5/10
September 5, 2010
These announcements were in the bulletin on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010.
KIDS KONNECTION
Praise God … we have our teachers in place for elementary KK this year. A big thanks goes out to all who stepped up to share their gifts and talents that God has given them. We could still use, however, a few people to help out with 1. signing kids in on Sunday mornings (9:40 – 10:10 a.m.); or 2. supervising our game time from 9:45 – 10:00 a.m. while the teachers pray together and get ready to go. If you can help in either of those capacities one Sunday per month, please contact Nancy Herman at nherman@hempfieldumc.com.
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The UMW will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m., in Room 124. The program for the evening will focus on various local outreach ministries of the church and is entitled: “What is Hempfield’s Donation Station Really…?” All women of the church interested in learning more about this vital mission are encouraged to attend.
PASTOR JOHN’S PRINTS
Prints of a few pieces of Pastor John’s artwork are available for sale to benefit Building Hope. You can see his paintings and purchase prints in the Spirit Cafe.

FOCUS ON CARE
Write On! Coed Care sends cards, care packages, and prays for our college and graduate students throughout the school year. Students’ campus addresses are needed in order for us to initiate contacts. Please fill out an address form at the CARE table in the foyer or contact Anne Lloyd (898-3314) directly.
Weather Report: Currently there are 29 active ministries under the CARE umbrella, and that umbrella is put to good use each week due to God’s showers of blessing as He moves this congregation to action. Whenever a need has been expressed, Hempfield UMC members have responded quickly and generously. Pick up a CARE Ministries’ brochure and learn how you can contribute your time, talents, and treasures and call Joan Karr (285-5156, ext. 222) to get involved in these inspiring service opportunities.
